How To Transfer WhatsApp Chat History Using a QR Code on Android or iOS
Meta recently announced that it has made it easier for WhatsApp users to move their chat history from an old phone to a new phone without using any backup or cloud services. WhatsApp now allows Android and iOS users to transfer their chat history, as well as media attachments, between phones running the same operating system. While the instant messaging service already provided the option to transfer conversation history, it was necessary to either backup the chat history on storage or upload it to the cloud.
WhatsApp’s new conversation transfer function, which uses QR codes, allows users to transmit most chat information, such as messages, as well as media files such as documents, links, and videos. Users will, however, be unable to share details on peer-to-peer payment communications and call history.
To transfer the WhatsApp chat history using a QR code, the user must ensure that both phones are running Android OS Lollipop 5.1, or Android 6 or higher. Until the transfer process is completed, the new phone should not be registered on WhatsApp. Both cellphones must also be WiFi activated and connected to the same network.
Similarly, for iOS conversation transfer, both old and new iPhone models must have WhatsApp for iOS version 2.23.9.77 or higher installed.
Here’s how to transfer WhatsApp chat history on both Android and iOS devices.
Android Phone WhatsApp Chat History Transfer
- Launch WhatsApp on your previous phone. More Options > Settings > Chats > Transfer Chats > Begin.
- Install and register WhatsApp on the new device with the same phone number.
- Start by selecting Transfer conversation history from your old phone.
- Allowing the permissions will result in the appearance of a QR code. Use your old gadget to scan this code.
- The process will begin once permission to connect the phone is granted.
- When the import is complete, press Done.
How to Transfer WhatsApp Chat History to an iOS Device
- On the old iPhone, open WhatsApp and navigate to Settings > Chats > Transfer Chats to iPhone > Start.
- Install WhatsApp on your new phone and sign up with your phone number.
- Select Continue on the Transfer Conversation History to iPhone page.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your new device with the camera on your old phone.
- After the transfer is complete, configure your profile on the new device.

Are you fed up with annoying ads popping up on your Android device, interrupting your browsing sessions and invading your privacy? Fear not! With just a few simple steps, you can take back control and enjoy a cleaner, more seamless user experience. Let’s dive into the process:
Install an Ad Blocking App: Head over to the Google Play Store and download an ad-blocking app of your choice, such as AdGuard, AdAway, or Blokada. These apps are designed to effectively block ads across various apps and websites, providing you with a smoother browsing experience.
Opt Out of Personalized Ads: Navigate to your device settings and access the Google Ads settings. Here, enable the “Opt out of Ads Personalization” option to prevent advertisers from targeting you with personalized ads based on your browsing habits.
Disable Ad Notifications: Long-press on any ad-related notification that pops up on your device and select “Turn off notifications.” Alternatively, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > [App Name] > Notifications and disable notifications from there to silence ad-related disturbances.
Check App Permissions: Be mindful of the permissions you grant to apps on your device, especially those related to your browsing history or personal data. Limit permissions to only what is necessary for the app to function properly, reducing the risk of encountering intrusive ads or privacy breaches.
Keep Apps and OS Updated: Regularly update your apps and Android operating system to ensure you have the latest security patches and bug fixes. Updates often include improvements to ad-blocking mechanisms, providing a more robust defense against intrusive ads and malware.
Consider Using a Different Browser: Explore browsers that offer built-in ad-blocking features or support for ad-blocking extensions. Firefox, for example, supports add-ons like uBlock Origin, which can effectively block ads and enhance your browsing privacy.
Exercise Caution: Exercise caution when downloading apps from unknown sources or visiting suspicious websites. Stick to reputable app stores and websites to minimize the risk of encountering unwanted ads and potential threats.
By following these seven simple steps, you can reclaim control of your Android device’s ad experience and enjoy a cleaner, more enjoyable browsing experience. Say goodbye to intrusive ads and hello to a smoother, more streamlined user experience on your Android device.
