Red Magic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro Set to Launch as RedMagic’s Most Powerful Tablet Yet

The gaming tablet world is getting more exciting, and RedMagic is about to make a big move. After the successful launch of the RedMagic Nova last year, the company is now preparing to unveil a new device: the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro. This tablet is expected to be packed with powerful specs, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, and it could be one of the top Android gaming tablets of 2025.

What’s Happening in the Gaming Tablet Market?

Last month, Lenovo released the Legion Y700 (Gen 4) gaming tablet in China, and now, RedMagic and Redmi are both getting ready to challenge it with new gaming tablets of their own.

RedMagic has confirmed the name of its upcoming tablet as the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro. This was revealed through launch event invites and images shared by trusted tipster Ice Universe. This new tablet will be the follow-up to the RedMagic Gaming Tablet Pro, which launched in September 2024 and used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version chip.

Meanwhile, Redmi is working on its own gaming tablet, though the name hasn’t been revealed yet. According to reports, Redmi’s tablet will come with an 8.8-inch LCD display, 3K resolution, and a 165Hz refresh rate. It will likely use the Dimensity 9400 Plus chip, and feature a 7,500mAh battery, bypass charging, dual USB-C ports, dual X-axis motors, and stereo speakers. It’s expected to launch alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra in China soon.

What to Expect from the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro

Although RedMagic hasn’t officially revealed all the specs, leaks and industry sources give us a pretty good idea of what’s coming.

The main highlight will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chipset, the most advanced processor from Qualcomm. It’s expected to offer even better gaming performance, faster graphics, and improved power efficiency compared to the previous generation.

The tablet might have a 9-inch customized OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1504 pixels and a 165Hz refresh rate. This would make gameplay incredibly smooth and visuals sharp and vibrant. For cooling, it’s likely to include a built-in fan, a feature RedMagic is known for, to keep the tablet cool during long gaming sessions.

The battery capacity is expected to be 8,240mAh, slightly smaller than the 10,100mAh battery found in the RedMagic Nova, but likely optimized for better weight balance and efficiency. Charging specs haven’t been revealed, but considering RedMagic’s history with 120W fast charging, something equally fast can be expected.

Audio is another key focus. Just like previous models, the Tablet 3 Pro will likely include stereo speakers, and may support DTS:X Ultra or similar sound enhancements for a more immersive experience. RedMagic’s gaming software — with tools for performance boosting, FPS monitoring, and screen recording — is also expected to return.

Looking Back: How It Improves on the RedMagic Nova

The RedMagic Nova, launched in 2024, was already a top-tier tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Edition, a 10.9-inch display, 144Hz refresh rate, and 120W fast charging. It impressed gamers with its performance, design, and feature set.

The upcoming Gaming Tablet 3 Pro aims to take things even further with a more advanced processor, a higher refresh rate (165Hz), a brighter and sharper OLED display, and better cooling. While the battery is slightly smaller, it should still deliver solid usage thanks to chipset and software optimizations.

How It Competes with Lenovo and Redmi

The tablet market now includes several serious gaming contenders. Lenovo’s new Legion Y700 is already out, and Redmi is preparing a powerful device of its own. However, RedMagic has one clear advantage: it focuses entirely on gaming. While Apple and Samsung lean toward productivity and media, RedMagic is all about performance, thermal control, and gamer features.

If the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is the only device to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, it could easily become the most powerful Android gaming tablet on the market.
