OnePlus AI Officially Announced, Launching June 5 with OnePlus 13s
OnePlus is officially stepping into the world of AI with the launch of its new OnePlus AI platform. This major update introduces smart tools and even a new button on the phone to help users work faster, stay organized, and be more creative. All of these features will debut on the upcoming OnePlus 13s, launching on June 5 in India.

One of the biggest changes is the new Plus Key, a special button that replaces the famous Alert Slider. You can customize this button to do different things—like launching apps or changing sound profiles—but its main job is to activate the company’s new AI system, called AI Mind Space.

When you press and hold the Plus Key (or swipe up with three fingers on phones without the button), it opens AI Plus Mind, which scans your screen for important information. For example, if there’s an address, event date, or foreign language text on your screen, the phone will recognize it and help you do something useful—like add an event to your calendar or translate text. All of this saved content goes into a space called Mind Space, where you can look it up later.

To make finding things easier, there’s also AI Search. You can just type what you remember—like “meeting notes from last week”—and it’ll find the info for you. Later this year, the phone will also start sorting saved items automatically, so it’s even easier to keep things organized.
The OnePlus 13s will be the first phone to offer this experience, but the company says the AI features will also come to other OnePlus 13 series phones through updates. On phones without the Plus Key, users can still access these features using screen gestures.
Besides Plus Mind, OnePlus has added many other AI tools:
• AI VoiceScribe can record calls or meetings and create summaries or translations, all within your favorite apps.
• AI Call Assistant (only in India) offers live translation and quick summaries during phone calls.
• AI Translation combines all translation features—text, voice, camera, and screen—into one easy-to-use app.
• AI Reframe looks at your photos and suggests better ways to crop them.
• AI Best Face 2.0 fixes issues in group photos, like someone blinking or making a weird face, and can adjust up to 20 people in one shot.
• AI Search helps you find anything saved on your phone by typing like you’re chatting with a person.
OnePlus is also working more closely with Google Gemini, so users can enjoy smart features inside apps like Notes and Clock. Gemini Live will also support screen and camera sharing, bringing more ways to interact with AI across the system.
When it comes to privacy, OnePlus promises strong protection. Most AI tasks are done directly on the phone. If more power is needed, the phone uses a secure Private Computing Cloud, with end-to-end encryption and a Trusted Execution Environment to keep your data safe during transfers and storage.
Even though the OnePlus 13s won’t be sold globally, OnePlus confirmed that these AI features will reach other models through software updates. That means most users will still get the new AI experience even if they don’t have the 13s.
