OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Racing Edition Color Variants and Key Specs Revealed Ahead of Launch

OnePlus is all set to launch two new high-performance phones in China on May 27—the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, also called the Extreme Edition, and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition. Both devices have already been listed on OnePlus’ official store and other retailer sites, giving us a clear look at their specs, designs, and color choices.

The Ace 5 Ultra will come in five configurations:

• 12GB + 256GB

• 12GB + 512GB

• 16GB + 256GB

• 16GB + 512GB

• 16GB + 1TB (top-end)

It will be available in three color options: Breeze Blue, Titanium, and Phantom Black.

The Racing Edition will offer four options:

• 12GB + 256GB

• 12GB + 512GB

• 16GB + 256GB

• 16GB + 512GB

This version will come in Wilderness Green, White, and Rock Black.

Both phones feature a flat OLED screen with a centered punch-hole camera. The Racing Edition has a dual-camera setup with an LED flash, while the Ultra shares a similar look with some design enhancements.

When it comes to displays, the Racing Edition is expected to have a 6.77-inch LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. The Ultra might go a bit bigger with a 6.83-inch OLED display, also offering the same sharpness and smoothness.

Under the hood, the Ace 5 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset. Geekbench scores show it’s a beast, with 2,779 single-core and 8,660 multi-core scores. It also runs on the latest Android 15.

The Racing Edition uses the new Dimensity 9400e chip—less powerful than the Ultra’s but still solid, built on the same efficient 4nm process.

Both phones are expected to deliver fast performance with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage on the Ultra. The Racing Edition likely uses a similar or slightly lower-speed memory setup, depending on the variant.

Camera-wise, you’ll get a 50MP main rear camera on both phones and a 16MP front camera for selfies. A special Plus Key side button is included to enhance gaming controls—a nice touch for mobile gamers.

Battery performance is another big win here. The Ultra is rumored to have a 5,500mAh to 6,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging, while the Racing Edition packs a huge 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging—perfect for heavy use and long gaming sessions.

With powerful chips, big batteries, fast charging, high refresh displays, and multiple color and storage options, both phones aim to offer serious value. The Ultra is clearly the premium pick, while the Racing Edition offers a slightly toned-down but still powerful experience.

The official launch happens on May 27 in China, and we might see these phones launch globally later—possibly under the OnePlus Nord or number series branding.
