However, Instagram has offered users the option to control who can download their reels from the account privacy settings within the app. That said, if a creator has allowed the reel download from their account, you can download the reels and save it on your phone or tablet.

Important information
The reels can only be downloaded from public Instagram profiles. Account options allow creators to allow or ban downloads of their reels. The downloaded reels include an Instagram watermark, username, and audio attribution. Downloads of reels are only for personal use and not for commercial purpose. Instagram users under the age of 18 have the download option disabled by default.
How to Make the Reel Download Option Available on Instagram
Begin by filming and editing your reel.
In the lower right corner, press the “Next” button.
At the bottom, press the “More options” button.
Scroll to the bottom and select “Advanced Settings.”
Toggle the setting “Allow people to download your reels” on or off.
Select whether downloading should be enabled or disabled for all reels or just the one you’re uploading.
