Android Auto Uses Google Assistant And AI To Summarize Messages

Google is developing a new feature for Android Auto that will summarize communications using Google Assistant and artificial intelligence (AI).

This information was obtained by 9To5Google, who decompiled version 14.52 of the Google app, which was posted to the Play Store and contained lines of code for this feature.

This new feature in Android Auto will employ AI and Google Assistant to summarize messages, perhaps making continuous notifications from group conversations less bothersome and distracting while driving.

According to Google, the “summaries will be generated by artificial intelligence, so it’s possible there could be mistakes,” and you’ll be able to toggle it on and off in the Android Auto settings whenever you want.

Since the strings for this functionality were discovered in a test version of the Google app, it’s unknown when it will be made public and released globally.
