How to Back Up Google Photos Locked Folders

Whether you’re storing images of a memorable occasion or sensitive papers, Google images’ Locked Folder function adds an extra degree of security. On Android devices, this passcode-protected zone keeps critical content apart from your ordinary photo grid and other programs.
Google has added the option to back up your locked folder, allowing you to view protected photographs and movies on any device with your passcode. This feature is not confined to Android; Locked Folder may also be set up and accessed on iOS devices and the web.

Configuring Cloud Backup for Locked Folder
Begin the locked folder configuration.
When you first set up your locked folder, you will now have the option to enable cloud backup throughout the setup process.
For already existing Locked Folders
If you already have a locked folder, go as follows to enable cloud backup:

  • Open the Google Photos app (make sure it’s the most recent version).
  • Tap your profile image in the upper-right corner.
  • Back up your data.
  • Change the settings to enable or deactivate backup for your locked folder.

Configure backup options
You have the option of backing up both photographs and locked folder content, or just one of them. If you wish, you can keep private photographs alone on your device.

Opening a Locked Folder from anywhere

Cross-device access
When you enable backup for Locked Folder, your sensitive data is available across all of your devices. Simply sign in to Google Photos and open the locked folder with the passcode from your device.

Enhanced privacy

Photos and movies in the locked folder are kept private. They will not be shown in your normal photo grid, memories, albums, or search results. Google Photosstrong security infrastructure protects your content.

Simplified settings page

Google Photos now has a more user-friendly settings page, making it easier to alter privacy settings and other options. The new design replaces the single settings page with sections for privacy, backup, sharing, notifications, and other features.
