Samsung Unveils Plans for 50W Dual USB-C and 45W Chargers
The Galaxy S24 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy S24 and S24+, are expected to offer the same charging speeds as their 2023 predecessors: 45W for the Plus and Ultra and 25W for the vanilla S23. The two smaller variants will have slightly larger batteries, but only by 100/200 mAh.
Nonetheless, according to leakster Roland Quandt, Samsung is working on new charges. The first will be the wired Samsung Charger Duo 50W. This one will have two USB-C ports, so it will likely max out at 45W while only one is in use and 2x25W when both are in use. The model number for this charger is EP-T5020.
The EP-T4511 is an update of the Samsung 45W Power Adapter (EP-T4510). It’s unclear what the differences will be here; however, the charger should feature a single USB-C port like the earlier model. The previous T4510 supported USB PD 3.0 PDO and PPS, but the new one doesn’t have much to offer because USB PD 3.1 is primarily concerned with greater power ranges (up to 240W), so it’s not required.
It goes without saying that these new chargers will be sold separately; like many other smartphone manufacturers, Samsung no longer puts a charger in the box with its phones.
