The iPhone 17 Pro Max is Expected to have a 48MP Telephoto Lens.

The iPhone 15 models are only a few months old, and we’ve already heard a slew of iPhone 16 speculations, but wait—even those are being outdone today, thanks to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Yes, 17. The one that will debut in the fall of 2025.
According to Jeff Pu, an expert who studies Apple’s supply chain, this model will contain a 48 MP telephoto camera that will be geared for use with the forthcoming Vision Pro headset. Unfortunately, he does not go into detail regarding that optimization. Starting with iOS 17.2, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can record spatial video with 3D depth for playback on the Vision Pro.
The iPhone 16 Pro is already expected to include a 48 MP ultrawide camera, and the iPhone 15 Pro includes a 48 MP main camera; thus, the iPhone 17 Pro/Max could be the first in Apple history to include three 48 MP cameras on the back.
Of course, you should take all of this with a grain of salt; we are, after all, over two years ahead of schedule here. Even if Apple is currently aiming to achieve everything mentioned here, a lot can change in such a short period of time. Things happen all the time that require plans to change.
