Oppo Find X8s and X8s+ Launched in China with Dimensity 9400+

Oppo has officially introduced its latest Find X8 lineup in China, and while the Find X8 Ultra has captured much of the spotlight with its dual telephoto cameras and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip, the Find X8s and Find X8s+ have made a strong impression as well. These two models bring flagship-tier specifications at a more accessible price, debuting as the world’s first smartphones powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9400+ chipset.

Design and Display

The Find X8s is the more compact of the duo, featuring a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for users who prefer smaller form factors. The Find X8s+ steps up with a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel, offering the same resolution and refresh rate but catering to those who prefer a slightly larger screen.

While both devices share a unified design language on the front, the rear panels set them apart. The Find X8s features a clean, symmetrical camera module, while the X8s+ sports a more dynamic triangular layout that gives it a distinct visual identity.

Performance: Debut of Dimensity 9400+

Both devices are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a slightly overclocked version of the standard 9400. The highlight is the Cortex-X925 prime core clocked at 3.73GHz, alongside three Cortex-X4 cores at 3.3GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4GHz. This setup delivers exceptional multitasking and AI-driven performance, making the X8s series capable of handling demanding tasks with ease.

Oppo pairs the chip with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS storage, ensuring users have plenty of power and space. Both devices run ColorOS 15.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.

Camera Setup

Photography is another strong point for the Find X8s series. Both phones come with a triple rear camera setup, including:

• 50MP main sensor with OIS and a 24mm focal length

• 50MP ultrawide lens (15mm, 120° field of view)

Where the two models differ is in the telephoto lens:

– The Find X8s includes a 50MP telephoto camera with an 85mm equivalent focal length, f/2.6 aperture, and dual-axis OIS

– The Find X8s+ uses a 73mm equivalent 50MP telephoto lens with an f/2.8 aperture, also featuring dual-axis stabilization

Battery and Charging

Oppo continues to impress with battery innovation. The Find X8s is equipped with a 5,700mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the X8s+ pushes the envelope further with a 6,000mAh unit. Both support:

• 80W wired charging

• 50W wireless charging

• 10W reverse wireless charging

This ensures fast and versatile charging no matter the scenario.

Durability and Extras

Both models are IP68 and IP69 rated, offering resistance to dust, water, and even high-pressure sprays, making them durable options for a variety of conditions. Additionally, Oppo has incorporated support for the Mag Magnetic Ecosystem, allowing users to connect accessories like magnetic battery packs using a proprietary phone case.

Connectivity is also cutting-edge, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and an X-axis linear motor delivering premium haptic feedback.

Color Options and Pricing

– Oppo Find X8s: Available in Hoshino Black, Moonlight White, Island Blue, and Cherry Blossom Pink

– Oppo Find X8s+: Comes in Hoshino Black, Moonlight White, and a stunning Hyacinth Purple

Despite the differences in battery and camera configurations, both models are priced identically, starting at CNY 4,199 (~$571) for the 12GB + 256GB version and maxing out at CNY 5,499 (~$748) for the 16GB + 1TB variant.
