WhatsApp Introduces Video Forward and Rewind Feature in Latest Update

WhatsApp users can now enjoy a new level of convenience with the latest update, which introduces the ability to forward and rewind videos. Rolled out on March 25, the update brings a host of fixes and enhancements, particularly for iOS users.

The highlight of this update is the long-awaited feature allowing users to forward or rewind videos, offering greater flexibility when revisiting specific segments of a video. While this feature has been in testing since last year, it is now officially making its way to iOS devices. However, it remains unclear whether Android users will also have access to this functionality, as the changelog on the Google Play Store has not been updated yet.

To utilize this feature, users can simply double-tap the edge of a video to quickly forward or rewind, enhancing the overall video viewing experience on the platform. Although the rollout is expected to reach all users in the coming weeks, some may need to exercise patience until the feature becomes available on their devices.

In addition to the video forward and rewind capability, the update includes various improvements and bug fixes aimed at enhancing the overall user experience. Notable changes include the ability to access the chat options menu when hovering over the chat list, improved spacing and hover states in Call History and Status, and fixes for issues such as disappearing cursors, duplicated messages, and obscured toolbar buttons.

Furthermore, users on Mac can now initiate conversations and interact with Meta AI and AI bots, adding a new dimension to their WhatsApp experience. While the Android version of the app received an update on the same day, it remains uncertain whether it includes the video forward and rewind feature.

As WhatsApp continues to evolve and introduce new features, users can look forward to an enriched messaging experience that meets their diverse needs and preferences.
