Xiaomi 15 Ultra Global Model’s Specs, Colors, and Memory Configurations Unveiled

Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its next flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and leaks are already painting a detailed picture of what to expect. While the Chinese launch is set for February 2024, the global release is rumored to take place at MWC 2025 in Barcelona (March 3–6). A BIS certification also hints at an India launch.

Recent reports suggest that the global version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature slight hardware differences compared to its Chinese counterpart, similar to previous Xiaomi flagships. Here’s everything we know so far about its storage options, color choices, design changes, and powerful hardware.

Memory and Storage: What to Expect from the Global Model

Leaked FCC certification documents indicate that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s global variant will come with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage as its top configuration. However, while this is the highest-end variant confirmed so far, Xiaomi may offer additional RAM and storage combinations at launch.

This is slightly different from earlier reports, which hinted that the global version might max out at 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the Chinese variant could get a higher 16GB RAM + 1TB storage option. Whether Xiaomi plans to bring the 1TB variant to international markets remains to be seen.

Colors and Customization: A Stylish Upgrade

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra Global Model will launch in three premium colors:

-Black – A classic and timeless look

-White – A clean, minimalist design

-Silver – A new color option, offering a fresh aesthetic

This is a slight upgrade over the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which launched globally in only Black and White with a vegan leather finish. There are also rumors that Xiaomi could introduce a special edition model with up to 20 customizable colors and 40 design combinations, allowing users to create a personalized look.

Design Refinements: More Premium, More Durable

Leaked hands-on images suggest subtle but meaningful refinements to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s design:

-The camera module retains its circular layout but has rearranged sensors and Leica branding.

-A red accent ring around the module enhances its premium look.

-The back panel features a textured finish, likely improving grip and durability.

These changes indicate that Xiaomi is focusing on both aesthetics and practicality, ensuring the phone looks and feels more premium while maintaining its rugged usability.

Under the Hood: Performance and Hardware Upgrades

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is shaping up to be a performance powerhouse, thanks to major hardware upgrades.

Processor

The device is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which was used in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This will provide better efficiency, faster performance, and improved AI capabilities.

Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a 6,000mAh battery, a significant upgrade from the 5,300mAh battery in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It will support:

-90W wired charging (faster than the previous 80W)

-50W wireless charging

This ensures that Xiaomi remains competitive with other flagship brands like Samsung and Apple in battery life and charging speeds.

Camera System

Xiaomi continues its partnership with Leica, making the Xiaomi 15 Ultra a camera-centric flagship. It will be the only flagship smartphone featuring a 1-inch primary sensor paired with a record-breaking 200MP periscope telephoto lens.

Expected Camera Setup:

-50MP primary camera (Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor, 1-inch type)

-200MP periscope telephoto lens (for extreme zoom capabilities)

-50MP telephoto lens

-50MP ultrawide lens

This setup positions the Xiaomi 15 Ultra as a serious competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra and Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, particularly for zoom and low-light photography.

Connectivity: eSIM and Satellite Features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to introduce satellite connectivity, a first for a Xiaomi device. This will allow users to send emergency messages even without cellular reception, similar to Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite.

Additionally, the phone will support eSIM technology, marking a move toward a SIM-less future. This makes the Xiaomi 15 Ultra one of the first Xiaomi flagships to fully embrace digital SIMs for global users.

Launch Timeline: When Will It Be Available?

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to launch in different regions as follows:

-China: February 2024

-Global Markets: Most likely at MWC 2025 (March 3–6)

-India: Confirmed via BIS certification, release date TBD
