Vivo X200 Ultra Color Options and Design Officially Revealed: A Pocket Camera That Makes Calls

The buzz around Vivo’s next ultra-flagship is reaching new heights as Vivo’s Product VP, Huang Tao, has shared a wealth of new information about the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra in a detailed post on Weibo. This follows the massive success of the Vivo X200 Pro, now touted as the best-selling “Pro” model in the X-series history. All eyes are now on the “Ultra” variant — and it’s shaping up to be far more than a typical smartphone refresh.

Not Just a Smartphone – A Pocket Camera with Calling Capabilities

In Tao’s words, the Vivo X200 Ultra is essentially a “pocket smart camera that can make calls.” Internally dubbed the “V-camera,” this device blurs the lines between flagship phones and professional photography tools. The X200 Ultra’s aesthetics and hardware layout have been deeply influenced by traditional high-end camera systems, delivering a DSLR-level imaging experience in your pocket.

Professional-Grade Camera Setup

The rear design features a large, circular camera module, housing three Zeiss-engineered prime lenses:

• 85mm APO telephoto lens (improved over previous gens)

• 14mm ultra-wide lens – boasts the largest sensor in the ultra-wide category

• 35mm classic humanistic lens – ideal for lifelike, documentary-style photography

Each lens includes Zeiss T coating and OIS, promising top-tier clarity and stability across the board. A fourth mystery sensor is also hinted at but hasn’t been officially revealed.

Beyond still photography, the video capabilities push the envelope. Users can shoot in:

• Full-focus 4K at 60fps with 10-bit Log

• Cinematic 4K at 120fps

There’s even a physical camera control button and a custom zoom flash system, further mimicking DSLR-style operation for portrait lovers.

High-End Internals and Display

Under the hood, the X200 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chipset and paired with a 2K Zeiss Master Color Display. This display also features circular polarizer tech for eye comfort, and the phone integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that works flawlessly even with wet fingers. It’s also equipped with a large battery and supports ultra-fast wireless flash charging.

Color Options and Design Details

Thanks to Huang Tao’s reveal, we now have a clear look at the phone’s color variants, which include:

• Red (Vine/Burgundy) – likely the boldest of the bunch, mirroring the popular Vivo X Fold2 red

• Silver/White – showcasing a unique dual-tone finish with a textured lower half forming a V-shape, setting it apart from traditional monochrome backs

• Black – a minimalist, all-time favorite finish for premium users

These match previous leaks reported by Gizmochina, GSMArena, NotebookCheck, and Gadgets 360, confirming the trio of distinct styles Vivo is betting on.

From everything revealed so far, it’s clear that the Vivo X200 Ultra isn’t just chasing flagship benchmarks — it’s carving its own niche as a true hybrid between a pro-grade camera and a cutting-edge smartphone. Vivo aims for it to be more than a “concert cam” or “event recorder” — it’s positioned to dominate big moments, from fast-paced sports to sweeping nature scenes.

Launch Date and Availability

The Vivo X200 Ultra will be officially launched in China on April 21, alongside a series of other new devices. While there’s no official word yet on a global rollout, the excitement surrounding this model could easily propel it to international markets sooner rather than later.
