After much anticipation, Vivo has officially launched its newest photography powerhouses—Vivo X200 Ultra and X200s—at a grand event in China. The spotlight was clearly on the X200 Ultra, a device aimed squarely at professional mobile photography, while the X200s arrives as a more compact yet powerful sibling with an enormous battery. Together, they represent Vivo’s strongest flagship duo yet.

Vivo X200 Ultra

Design & Display

The X200 Ultra serves as the crown jewel of Vivo’s X200 series. At the front sits a stunning 6.82-inch 10-bit LTPO AMOLED panel with QHD+ resolution, an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, and an eye-popping 4,500 nits peak brightness. It’s wrapped in a premium body, offered in Black, Red, and a special White variant styled to mimic Rimowa luggage.

Pro-Level Camera Hardware with Dual ISPs

Vivo’s latest Ultra isn’t just another flagship—it’s practically a portable camera rig. At the heart of its imaging system is a customizable physical shutter button (dubbed the “V key”) placed exactly where your index finger would rest, making the phone feel like a real camera.

The rear camera array includes:

– 50MP Sony LYT-818 main sensor (1/1.28” size, f/1.7 aperture)

– 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9 periscope lens (1/1.4”, 85mm focal length)

– 50MP Sony LYT-818 ultra-wide shooter

What makes this setup truly elite are the two dedicated camera chips:

– Vivo V3+ ISP for advanced post-processing

– New VS1 chip, which handles exposure, focus tracking, and image stacking before handing data over to the V3+ for deep computational refinement

All rear cameras support 4K@120fps slow-mo, and 4K@60fps with Dolby Vision. Even selfies are serious here, thanks to a 50MP front camera.

Next-Gen Add-On: Zeiss Telephoto Lens Kit

In a mobile photography first, Vivo is introducing a modular Zeiss telephoto add-on. Part of the optional Photography Kit, the accessory brings an extra 2.35x optical zoom, achieving up to 200mm equivalent focal length. The full kit includes:

Multiple attachable lenses

– Dedicated smartphone case with grip and USB-C port

– Adjustable straps

– A 2,300mAh battery built into the grip for longer shooting sessions

Performance Beast with Satellite Support

Under the hood, the X200 Ultra rocks the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite Edition, backed by 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage options: 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The highest variant supports satellite communication, making it ideal for remote locations.

Powering all this is a large 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless fast charging, ensuring long-lasting performance even during heavy use.

Software & Price

Running OriginOS 5 on top of Android 15, the phone brings powerful software tools, including AI-driven photo features and smart customization options.

– Base price: CNY 6,499 (~$900) for 12GB + 256GB

– Top-tier model: CNY 7,999 (~$1,100) with 16GB + 1TB and satellite support

– Photography Set Bundle: CNY 9,699 (~$1,350)

The X200 Ultra is expected to remain exclusive to China.

Vivo X200s

While the X200s is smaller in footprint, it packs flagship-grade features in a sleek, lightweight body. Built as a successor to last year’s X100s, this model brings subtle design refinements and a big focus on battery and camera performance.

Display & Build

Up front is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with 1260p resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Despite the slimmer frame, Vivo didn’t skimp on durability or aesthetics, with finishes in Black, White, Green, and Lavender Purple.

Powerful Internals with Dimensity 9400+

At its core lies the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, paired with up to 16GB RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. Thermal performance is enhanced with a large vapor chamber cooling system, ensuring the phone stays cool under load.

Camera System: Triple 50MP Setup

The X200s carries over the flagship camera setup:

– 50MP f/1.6 main

– 50MP f/2.6 telephoto with 3x optical zoom

– 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide

Plus a sharp 32MP front camera inside a punch-hole cutout.

Battery & Charging: Breaking Records

Its standout feature? A massive 6,200mAh battery, the largest in the X-series to date. Charging is equally fast:

– 90W wired charging

– 40W wireless charging (with compatible charger)

Smart Features & Pricing

On the software side, the X200s also runs OriginOS 5 on Android 15, and includes:

– AI spam call filters

– Homework assistant for students

-“Circle to Search” alternative for on-screen web lookups

– 360° NFC, smart antenna switching, and upgraded connectivity

Starting price: CNY 4,199 (~$575)

First sales begin April 25

Like the Ultra, the X200s will likely remain China-exclusive for now.
