Vivo S19 & S19 Pro
Vivo has launched its latest S19 series in China, introducing two new models: the Vivo S19 and the Vivo S19 Pro. Both phones share several features but also present distinct differences. This article explores the design, specifications, features, and pricing of these new smartphones.
Design
In a market crowded with similar-looking smartphones, Vivo’s S19 series stands out with its innovative design. The series features a large, circular camera housing, diverging from traditional layouts, and is available in Blue, Gray, Peach, and Green.
The Vivo S19 is 7.19mm thick and weighs 193g, making it relatively light considering its substantial battery. The S19 Pro, slightly thicker at 7.58mm, weighs 192g and boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring resistance to dust and water.
Specifications & Features
Both models in the S19 series come with a 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 1,260 x 2,800 pixels. They use a 10-bit OLED panel for superior visuals and support a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth interaction. Additionally, they offer peak brightness of 4,500 nits for visibility in bright sunlight. The key difference between the two is the display design: the S19 has a flat screen, while the S19 Pro features a curved display.
In terms of photography, the Vivo S19 includes a 50MP main camera with an f/1.88 lens and OIS support, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The S19 Pro steps up with a triple rear camera setup: a 50MP Sony IMX921 with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP OIS telephoto shooter capable of 50x digital zoom. Both models sport a 50MP front camera for high-quality selfies and video calls.
Under the hood, the Vivo S19 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the S19 Pro uses the Dimensity 9200+ chip. Interestingly, both models retain the processors from their predecessors, meaning no performance upgrades in this generation.
Distinct Feature
A notable feature of the S19 series is its battery capacity. Thanks to Vivo’s Blue Ocean tech, these phones house large batteries without significant weight increase. The Vivo S19 has a 6,000mAh battery, yet weighs just 193g. The S19 Pro features a 5,500mAh battery. Both models support 80W fast charging and run on OriginOS 4, based on Android 14.
