Samsung Galaxy A56 is launching with 45W fast charging, even faster than the Galaxy S24.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A56 is set to raise the bar for mid-range smartphones, with significant upgrades that are already generating excitement. The phone has not been officially announced, but recent certifications and leaks have unveiled a wealth of information about its features.

The Galaxy A56 (model number SM-A5660, its Chinese variant) recently appeared in the China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) database, confirming support for 45W fast charging. The CCC listing shows the device can charge at 10V and 4.5A, enabling significantly faster charging than its predecessor, the Galaxy A55, which was capped at 25W.

Interestingly, the Galaxy A56 will charge faster than even flagship models like the Galaxy S24, which supports only 25W charging. While other mid-range Samsung phones, such as the Galaxy F and M series, have featured 45W charging, these are usually restricted to select regions like China and India. This makes the Galaxy A56 the first Galaxy A series device to bring 45W charging to a broader global audience.

Enhanced Chipset and Performance

The Galaxy A56 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1580 chipset, which features an octa-core CPU architecture for impressive performance. The CPU comprises:

-One Cortex-A720 core clocked at 2.9GHz

-Three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz

-Four Cortex-A520 cores running at 1.95GHz

Its Xclipse 540 GPU, based on RDNA3 architecture, includes two Work Group Processors (WGPs), promising excellent graphical performance for gaming and multimedia. This new chipset offers a notable upgrade over previous models in the Galaxy A lineup, delivering faster speeds and better energy efficiency.

Camera System Upgrades

The Galaxy A56 also brings improvements to its camera setup:

-50MP primary sensor for detailed photos

-12MP ultrawide camera for capturing expansive shots

-5MP macro camera for close-up photography

An upgraded 12MP front-facing camera, ideal for selfies and video calls

These upgrades ensure that the Galaxy A56 delivers versatile and high-quality photography capabilities, rivaling more expensive devices.

Display and Battery Excellence

The phone is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display, offering vibrant visuals and a smooth experience for scrolling, gaming, and streaming. Combined with a 5,000mAh battery, the Galaxy A56 ensures a full day of heavy use.

Although the phone will support 45W fast charging, the regulatory filing confirms it will not include a charger in the box, continuing Samsung’s eco-friendly initiative. Users will need to purchase a 45W or higher charger separately to take full advantage of the improved charging speeds.
