OnePlus Launches Ace 3 Pro

OnePlus has officially launched the Ace 3 Pro, narrowing the gap between its Ace series and flagship number series devices more than ever before. This latest addition to the Ace lineup offers impressive features and performance enhancements, positioning it just a step below the OnePlus 12.
Display and Performance
The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro features a slightly smaller curved 6.78-inch 8T LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate. The screen boasts a peak local brightness of up to 4,500 nits. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the Ace 3 Pro can be configured with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Camera Specifications
The camera setup is identical to the regular Ace 3 and OnePlus 12R, including a 24mm 50MP main shooter with an F/1.8 aperture and OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. These features ensure high-quality photography, although they might not match the flagship models’ capabilities.
Battery and Cooling Innovations
One area where the Ace 3 Pro excels is its battery. It introduces OnePlus’ new Glacier Battery technology, featuring a more energy-dense 6,100mAh cell. This is the largest battery seen in a OnePlus device, promising up to two days of usage. The phone supports 100W SuperVOOC S wired charging, allowing a full charge from 0 to 100% in just 36 minutes. OnePlus guarantees that the battery will retain 80% of its capacity after four years of usage.
To manage heat, OnePlus has incorporated an updated passive cooling system with a 9126mm² VC heat dissipation area, offering 36% improved cooling compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro.
Additional Features
The Ace 3 Pro includes an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. It is also the first Android phone to support Genshin Impact at 120fps, showcasing its gaming capabilities. Other notable features include a three-stage alert slider, an IR blaster, NFC, dual stereo speakers, and the ability to make calls in areas with weak or no internet connectivity.
Design and Availability
Available in Porcelain White, Green Field, and Titanium Silver colors, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro starts at CNY 3,199 ($440) for the 12GB/256GB model and goes up to CNY 4,599 ($633) for the 24GB/1TB version. Open sales in China begin on July 3. OnePlus has yet to announce global availability, but it is expected that if a OnePlus 12T is launched, it will likely be a rebranded Ace 3 Pro.
The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro stands out as a compelling mid-range option with flagship-like features. Its robust battery life, powerful performance, and advanced cooling system make it an attractive choice for consumers looking for a high-performance smartphone without the flagship price tag.
