Huawei’s Pura 70 Series Cleared for Launch in Malaysia
Excitement brews for Huawei enthusiasts in Malaysia as the tech giant’s latest offering, the Huawei Pura 70 series, clears the SIRIM certification hurdle, hinting at an imminent launch in the country. The recent sighting of the new lineup on the SIRIM website has sparked anticipation among consumers eager to get their hands on the cutting-edge devices.
While specific details and the official release date for the Malaysian market are yet to be confirmed by Huawei, the appearance of the Pura 70 series on the SIRIM database indicates that the devices, including the standard Pura 70 and the Pro variant, could hit Malaysian shores soon. The models listed on the certification platform bear the model numbers ADY-LX9 and HBN-LX9, suggesting a comprehensive release strategy by Huawei in the Malaysian market.
Although the full lineup of the Pura 70 series, which comprises four different devices, is yet to be confirmed for Malaysia, the presence of the base model and the Pro version on the SIRIM database paves the way for potential subsequent launches of the Pro Plus and Ultra variants later in the year. However, the availability of the devices outside of China remains uncertain.
In terms of specifications, the standard Pura 70 boasts a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Kirin 9010 chipset. It houses a robust 4,900mAh battery with fast-charging capabilities of up to 66W, along with impressive camera features, including a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 12MP telescopic lens with 5x optical zoom.
On the other hand, the Pura 70 Pro offers an even larger 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with similar refresh rate capabilities and is equipped with a 5,050mAh battery supporting fast charging of up to 100W. The Pro model’s camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 48MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a 12.5MP ultra-wide lens, ensuring top-notch photography experiences for users.
While Huawei initially launched the Pura 70 series exclusively in China, the recent certification in Malaysia hints at the company’s potential expansion into overseas markets. The certification process by SIRIM signifies the authenticity and compliance of Huawei’s products for entry into the Malaysian market, although an official announcement from Huawei regarding the series’ launch in Malaysia is still pending.
As Huawei eyes markets beyond China, competitors such as Apple and Samsung may be poised for heightened competition, especially considering China’s status as the largest smartphone market globally. However, the potential introduction of the Pura 70 series in Malaysia underscores Huawei’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology to consumers worldwide, promising an exciting era for smartphone enthusiasts in the region.
