Garmin Lily 2 Smartwatch, Unveiled

Garmin has unveiled the Garmin Lily 2 smartwatch and Garmin HRM-Fit heart rate monitor at CES 2024, accompanied by a revamped Garmin Connect app. The Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic, designed as slender and stylish watches, prioritize aesthetics with a ‘hidden’ display that activates when tapped. Unlike other Garmin watches, the Lily 2 opts for a less connected, hybrid look. Boasting up to five days of battery life, it includes features like women’s health and cycle tracking, sleep scores, body battery, and a pulse oximeter.
Garmin’s HRM-Fit, the latest addition to its heart rate monitors, is specifically designed for women with a clip-on design tailored for sports bras. Priced at $149.99 / £139.99, it promises up to one year of battery life and transmits real-time workout information to Garmin smartwatches and Edge cycling computers.
Meanwhile, Garmin Connect introduces significant changes to its app, focusing on a simplified design for better user engagement. The update includes new categories like Today’s Activity, In Focus, At a Glance, Events, Training Plans, and Challenges. While aiming to provide more relevant insights, the shift towards simplicity might draw mixed reactions from users accustomed to the app’s detailed statistics. This move echoes Fitbit’s experience, where a streamlined design initially faced criticism and prompted subsequent fixes.
