Apple iPhone 16 prototype renders have been leaked
The iPhone 16 series is still a long way off, but a new MacRumors post provides some critical details about the standard iPhone 16 design. Apple is reported to be experimenting with the back design and button location on the forthcoming “DeLorean” iPhone, and we now have three pre-production design renders illustrating the potential new modifications. The first design is inspired by the iPhone X, with a vertical pill containing two camera lenses.
The yellow iPhone 16 prototype also has a unified volume rocker button rather than the separate volume up and down buttons present on every iPhone since 2010. Above the volume controls, all three smartphones have capacitive action buttons, with the black variant having a visibly larger button. The pink and black images change the camera design to a more familiar look, with each lens enclosed inside a metal ring.
In addition, the black variant has a capacitive capture button situated below the power button. According to a prior rumor, the new button would be known as “Project Nova” inside Apple HQ and would provide force touch feedback while also functioning as a camera shutter button. The Action Button is likely to appear on all iPhone 16 models.
