Honor is getting ready to launch two new smartphones—the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro—and they’re looking like big upgrades over the previous models. From powerful chipsets to huge batteries and high-quality displays, there’s a lot to be excited about.

The global launch is set for May 22, 2025, while China will get the phones a bit later on May 28. Interestingly, the Chinese and global versions won’t be exactly the same—some key specs will differ depending on the region.

Big Batteries, But Not for Everyone

Battery life will be one of the highlights of the Honor 400 series—but it depends on where you live.

In China, both the Honor 400 and 400 Pro are expected to come with a massive 7,200mAh battery, which should easily last through two days of use. That’s a huge leap over most smartphones today.

However, the global versions will come with a smaller 5,300mAh battery—still solid, and even a little bigger than the 5,200mAh battery in the Honor 200, but not quite as exciting as the Chinese model.

Display and Design

Both phones will reportedly feature a 6.55-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2736 x 1264 pixels). This makes for a sharper and more vibrant screen compared to standard Full HD+. The Pro version might have curved edges for a more premium look.

The display size is a little smaller than the one on the Honor 300 series, but the improved sharpness and quality should make up for it.

Different Chips for Different Markets

Under the hood, the Honor 400 (China) will be the first phone to launch with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset—a powerful new chip aimed at the upper mid-range market. Meanwhile, the global Honor 400 will use the older Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which is still good but not as advanced.

As for the Honor 400 Pro, both the Chinese and global versions will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a flagship-level chip also found in top-tier Android phones. So if performance is a priority, the Pro version is the one to watch.

RAM, Software, and Features

The Chinese Honor 400 is expected to have 12GB of RAM, along with 12GB of virtual RAM for smoother multitasking. Storage options haven’t been confirmed yet, but we can expect at least 256GB and maybe even a 1TB variant.

Both phones will run on MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, bringing the latest software features and smoother performance.

Cameras That Pack a Punch

The camera specs also look very promising. The Honor 400 might come with a dual-camera setup featuring a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

The Honor 400 Pro is rumored to go even further with a triple-camera system: 200MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP telephoto for zoom and portraits. These are flagship-level camera setups, especially impressive at this price point.

If you’re in China, you’ll likely get more battery and better chipsets. But even the global versions seem like solid options, especially with that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Pro model.
