Honor X60 GT Debuts in China with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 6300mAh Battery, and MagicOS 9.0
Honor has officially unveiled the Honor X60 GT, just five days after it appeared on Chinese retail sites for pre-registration. This performance-centric device is the latest addition to the X-series lineup, and it brings a compelling mix of flagship-level specs, advanced AI features, and gamer-focused hardware—all at an aggressive starting price.

Performance: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with Turbo Optimization
At its core, the X60 GT is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, Qualcomm’s former flagship platform known for its powerful CPU/GPU combo and efficient thermals. Honor has paired this with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, plus an additional 8GB of virtual RAM, for a total of 24GB. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1, ensuring rapid app launches and smooth multitasking.
Honor’s GPU Turbo X and OS Turbo X technologies are baked into the system for smoother frame rates during gaming and overall system efficiency. The phone reportedly hits a score of 1.6 million on AnTuTu, demonstrating flagship-grade power at a mid-range price.
MagicOS 9.0 with AI-Powered Features
Running the show is MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 14, which brings a suite of AI-powered features. These include:
– AI photo editing tools that can expand image backgrounds, change visual styles, or erase unwanted objects.
– A Dynamic Island-style notification system for easier multitasking and interaction.
– AI face modification during video calls for smoother appearance adjustments.
– A personal assistant embedded into the OS for smarter, hands-free navigation and productivity.
Display: AMOLED Smoothness with High Brightness
While earlier listings suggested an LCD, the final unit is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display boasting a Full HD+ resolution of 2664 x 1200 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate for ultra-fluid scrolling and gaming. The display also supports up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, which is exceptional for outdoor visibility and HDR content.
To protect users’ eyes during prolonged use, the screen supports 3840Hz PWM dimming, reducing flicker and eye strain.

Design and Build
The Honor X60 GT is designed with a bold gamer-friendly aesthetic. It comes in three color variants—Black, White, and Blue—with the latter two featuring a modern grid-like pattern across the rear panel. The device sports a prominent circular camera module, and its sleek lines help it stand out from typical mid-range phones.

Camera Capabilities
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), providing decent low-light photography and sharp shots. This is backed by a 2MP depth sensor, mainly for portrait mode effects. Up front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture, sitting in a centered punch-hole cutout.
While the camera array is basic compared to flagships, it covers most casual shooting needs.
Battery: Giant Cell with Smart Charging
One of the phone’s biggest highlights is its 6,300mAh battery—the largest battery Honor has ever used in a smartphone. It supports 80W wired fast charging, which can juice the battery to 47% in just 15 minutes.
The phone also features bypass charging, allowing power to directly run the system without charging the battery—ideal during long gaming sessions to minimize heat and battery wear. To manage thermals, Honor included a vapor chamber cooling system with a surface area of 5,514 sq.mm, keeping the phone cool under load.
Connectivity and Extras
Other notable features include:
– Side-mounted fingerprint sensor
– Dual stereo speakers
– USB-C port
– 5G and Wi-Fi 6 support
Variants and Pricing
Honor offers the X60 GT in three memory configurations:
– 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
– 16GB RAM + 256GB storage
– 16GB RAM + 512GB storage
Pricing starts at CNY 1,799 (approximately $250 / €215), which makes it one of the most competitive smartphones in its segment considering the specs.
The X60 GT is part of a larger family of GT-branded devices. Honor will launch the GT Pro smartphone and the GT Pad Pro tablet on April 23, expanding the GT ecosystem with performance-first devices across form factors.
