Apple Watch X: Leaked Renders Hint at Major Redesign
Apple is rumored to be planning a significant revamp of the Apple Watch to mark its tenth anniversary. According to 91mobiles, CAD renders of what could be the “Apple Watch X” or Apple Watch Series 10 have been sourced from industry insiders, suggesting notable design and feature changes.
Larger and Thinner Design
The leaked renders indicate a larger model featuring a 2-inch display, the biggest yet on an Apple Watch. For comparison, the current Apple Watch Series 9 has a 1.7-inch display, while the Apple Watch Ultra sports a 1.93-inch screen. Despite this increase in screen size, the new model’s dimensions are reportedly around 46 x 39.7 x 11.6mm, making it larger than the Series 9 but smaller than the Ultra.
Familiar but Refined Aesthetic
The design appears to maintain the signature rectangular shape of previous Apple Watches, complete with a Digital Crown and Side button. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that the “Apple Watch X” will have a thinner case, potentially introducing a magnetic band attachment system, although this feature is not evident in the current renders.
Enhanced Screen Sizes
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the Apple Watch Series 10 will come in larger screen sizes than previous models, with options increasing from 41mm to 45mm and from 45mm to 49mm. This expansion aims to provide a more immersive display experience.
Innovative Features
The “Apple Watch X” is expected to incorporate advanced health monitoring features, including blood pressure tracking and sleep apnea detection. This aligns with Apple’s ongoing commitment to integrating comprehensive health tools into its wearable devices.
Launch Timeline
While the accuracy of the CAD renders remains uncertain, Apple typically unveils new Apple Watch models in September alongside its latest iPhone lineup. The “Apple Watch X” is anticipated to launch either in 2024 or 2025, marking a decade since the original Apple Watch’s release in April 2015.
The forthcoming Apple Watch X promises to deliver substantial upgrades in both design and functionality, reflecting Apple’s innovative spirit and dedication to enhancing user experience. As anticipation builds, these leaks offer a glimpse into the exciting potential of the next generation of Apple Watches.
