Casio Unveils the G-SHOCK GBD-300 Smartwatch
Casio America has introduced a new model to its G-SQUAD series, the G-SHOCK GBD-300 smartwatch. Designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, the GBD-300 boasts a slimmer and more compact design that prioritizes comfort and durability.
The GBD-300 features a dual bezel structure that protects its core components from significant impacts, ensuring resilience. It is lightweight, shock-resistant, and equipped with a high-contrast LCD display that remains clear even in bright light. The display shows time, date, and alarms, and the watch includes four alarms, a countdown timer, a stopwatch, and 38 world time settings.
Advanced fitness tracking capabilities are a highlight of the GBD-300, which measures distance, pace, steps, and calories burned. This data is stored for performance analysis, helping athletes monitor their progress and adjust their training accordingly.
In addition to the GBD-300, Casio also unveiled the Pro TREK PRG-340SC watches earlier this year. These watches feature a built-in digital compass, altimeter, and thermometer, and are powered by solar batteries. They are water-resistant up to 100 meters and can withstand cold temperatures as low as -10°C.
The G-SHOCK GBD-300 smartwatch, part of the G-SQUAD line, is designed to track distance, pace, steps, and calories during marathons and workouts. It features a more compact body for a better fit and a textured band that prevents sticking due to sweat while ensuring a non-slip fit. The watch is water-resistant up to 20 bar and utilizes two separate bezels to protect the main module from shocks.
The high-contrast monochrome LCD display offers good visibility for the time, date, and alarms in daylight. Additional features include four alarms, a countdown timer, a stopwatch, and 38 world time settings. The memory-in-pixel (MIP) LCD is protected by the raised bezel and can be automatically lit by the Super Illuminator LED light with a simple tilt of the wrist.
Health tracking features of the G-SHOCK GBD-300 include tracking distance, speed, pace, and calories burned for up to a hundred runs. The selectable log view displays step count for each day of the week or running distance for the month.
Bluetooth low energy connectivity with smartphones enables notifications for calls, emails, calendar events, and social media posts. Notifications can be set to sound the alarm or vibrate the watch. Additional capabilities using the G-SHOCK MOVE app include training plan creation, data logging, and GPS distance correction.
The new G-SQUAD GBD-300 series will be available in July in black (GBD-300-1), white (GBD-300-7), and yellow (GBD-300-9). The GBD-300 measures 48.9 x 47.4 x 14.9 mm and weighs 60 grams. The watch offers a battery life of up to two years on a CR2032 lithium battery and is rated 20 bar for water resistance.
Casio’s latest G-SHOCK GBD-300 smartwatch combines advanced fitness tracking features with the brand’s renowned durability, making it an ideal choice for those who lead an active lifestyle.
