Anticipated Launch: New M3 MacBook Air and iPad Pro/Air Updates from Apple.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning some major hardware releases for early 2024. Gurman anticipates in the Power On email that Apple will debut the next generation iPad Pro and iPad Air in March, each in two sizes, as well as the new M3 MacBook Airs. The Mac Studio and Mac Pro will most certainly be much later to the M3 party; according to Gurman, Apple will not have these ready for distribution until at least the end of 2024, and they may even slide into 2025.

According to Gurman, Apple plans to make clearer distinctions between models with the launch of its new iPads so that consumers’ choices are less confused. The iPad Pro is on its way to Apple’s latest M3 CPU, an OLED display, and two sizes: 11 and 13 inches. Apple will also offer a new Magic Keyboard only for the Pro. The iPad Air, on the other hand, will be available in 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch sizes and will employ the M2 chip. The modifications should make the differences between high-end, mid-range, and ordinary iPads more evident, allowing customers to more quickly pick which model best suits their needs.

Gurman predicts that the M3 MacBook Air will be available in March in 13- and 15-inch sizes. At that time, Apple may also discontinue the 2020 M1 MacBook Air. Its higher-end variants, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, are the last to get the M3 upgrade
