Xiaomi Poco Pad Specifications

Xiaomi’s Poco brand has expanded its lineup with the introduction of its first tablet, the Poco Pad, launched alongside the Poco F6 duo. This new tablet bears a strong resemblance to the Redmi Pad Pro, which was released just over a month prior, sharing much of the same hardware.

Display and Build

The Poco Pad features a 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 12-bit color depth. The display boasts a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Although Xiaomi claims the panel supports Dolby Vision, this seems optimistic given the limitations of LCD technology. Nonetheless, the display’s performance will be scrutinized in our full review.

The tablet’s build includes a Gorilla Glass 3 front, an aluminum frame, and an aluminum back. It measures 280 x 181.9 x 7.5 mm and weighs 571 grams, offering a solid and premium feel.

Hardware and Performance

Powering the Poco Pad is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, an uncommon but promising choice for budget tablets. This SoC should provide a good balance between performance and efficiency, a welcome change from the older hardware typically found in this price range.

The tablet is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSDXC card slot. This single memory configuration is fairly generous, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample storage space.

Camera System

The Poco Pad includes an 8MP main camera on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera. These basic cameras are suitable for tasks like scanning documents and video calls but are not designed for high-end photography.

Audio and Battery

Xiaomi has integrated four stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning into the Poco Pad, promising an immersive audio experience.

The device is powered by a substantial 10,000 mAh battery, supporting 33W fast charging. This should provide excellent battery life, complemented by quick charging capabilities.

Software and Additional Features

Running on Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS based on Android 14, the Poco Pad aims to deliver a smooth and user-friendly experience. It also supports accessories like the external Poco Pad Keyboard and Poco Smart Pen, enhancing its functionality for productivity tasks.
