Sony Xperia 1 VI Camera Sensors Revealed

As the launch date for the Sony Xperia 1 VI draws near on May 15, anticipation is building among tech enthusiasts. While Sony has yet to make an official announcement, leaked promotional images have provided insights into some key specifications, particularly regarding the device’s camera capabilities.

The latest leak, courtesy of HT Felix, sheds light on the camera sensors that will power the Xperia 1 VI. Interestingly, it appears that both the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI will share similar camera sensors, albeit for different purposes. Here’s a breakdown of the camera sensors expected to feature in the Xperia 1 VI:

  • Ultra-wide (16mm): 50MP Sony LYT600 (1/2″ optical format)
  • Main (24mm): 48MP Sony LYT800 (1/1.4″)
  • Telephoto (85-170mm): 50MP LYT500 (1/2.9″)

Notably, the ultra-wide and telephoto sensors represent significant upgrades from the predecessor’s 12MP sensors, promising enhanced photography experiences for users.

In comparison, the Xperia 10 VI is rumored to sport the LYT600 and LYT500 sensors in its main and ultra-wide cameras respectively. Additionally, it’s expected that the Xperia 1 VI will retain the exclusive Zeiss T* coating, which helps reduce glare and chromatic aberrations, while the Xperia 10 VI may not offer this feature.

Furthermore, leaked promotional images suggest that the Xperia 1 VI will boast an “Exmor T for Mobile” image sensor, possibly based on the Sony LYT800 sensor. This indicates a continued focus on delivering high-quality imaging capabilities for mobile photography enthusiasts.

Apart from camera specifications, other details have surfaced regarding the Xperia 1 VI’s display. The device is anticipated to feature an OLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, marking a departure from its predecessor’s 21:9 narrow display. Additionally, reports indicate that the display will be 1.5 times brighter than its predecessor, enhancing visibility in various lighting conditions.

Moreover, improvements in heat dissipation systems are hinted at in leaked images, aiming to enhance performance during outdoor camera usage.

However, it’s essential to approach these leaked details with caution, as they remain unconfirmed until Sony’s official announcement. As with any leaked information, there’s always a possibility of inaccuracies or changes before the final product release. Nonetheless, the leaked specifications offer a glimpse into what users can expect from Sony’s upcoming Xperia 1 VI flagship smartphone.
