Samsung Downgrades Galaxy S20 Series to Quarterly Updates

Samsung has made a significant change to its update schedule for the Galaxy S20 series, moving from monthly to quarterly security patches. This means that users of Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, S20 Ultra, and S20 FE devices will no longer receive monthly security updates. Instead, they will now be issued once every three months.

The transition has already begun, with the March 2024 security patches being the last monthly update for these devices. Users can expect their next security patch in June, following the new quarterly schedule.

Launched in 2020 with Android 10, the Galaxy S20 series has fulfilled its three-year update promise and is no longer receiving Android updates. For those considering an upgrade, alternative Android phones and the best Samsung devices of 2024 are worth exploring.

In a parallel move, Samsung has also shifted the Galaxy Note 20 series to quarterly updates, aligning its update strategy across flagship devices.
