Google Pixel 9 Pro Renders Show Compact Screen and Redesigned Camera Setup

Google, having unveiled the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in October 2023, is already setting its sights on the upcoming Pixel 9 lineup. Leaked CAD-based renders provide an early look at the Pixel 9 Pro, hinting at some intriguing design changes. The Pixel 9 Pro is anticipated to feature a slightly smaller 6.5-inch screen, a departure from the 6.7-inch OLED display on its predecessor. Surprisingly, the overall body size remains consistent, resulting in slightly thicker bezels.

One notable shift in design is the abandonment of the expansive camera bump that stretched from end to end on the previous model. The Pixel 9 Pro opts for a more contained camera island with horizontal shooter placement within an oval structure. While the device maintains a slim profile at 8.5 mm, the camera bump stands out at 12 mm, a substantial increase of almost 50%. In terms of materials, Google might depart from the traditional aluminum frame, considering a move to titanium alloy. This aligns with the trend set by Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro series and Samsung’s adoption of titanium alloy in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

While specific details about the internal features and capabilities of the Pixel 9 Pro remain undisclosed, these early renders hint at an evolution in design philosophy for Google’s flagship smartphones. As anticipation builds, tech enthusiasts are eager to witness the official unveiling of the Pixel 9 lineup and the innovations it brings to the table.
