Samsung Smartphones that Might not Receive the Android 14 Upgrade.

The decision to not provide Android 14 to 2020 Samsung smartphones may be due to technical limitations, business strategies, and resource allocation. Prior to Google deciding to overtake everyone by offering seven years of OS and feature updates, Samsung provided the longest software support in the Android market. After a decade of delivering only two major OS upgrades to the majority of devices, regardless of their price tags, Samsung stated in 2020 that it will begin releasing three major Android OS upgrades to flagships and select mid-range devices. Shortly after, the firm increased flagship and several mid-range phones’ eligibility for OS updates to four years.
The following well-known Galaxy models from 2020 will not be receiving Android 14/One UI 6:
S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra Galaxy
Galaxy S20 FE
Note 20/Note 20 Ultra Galaxy
Tablet Galaxy S7/S7+
Galaxy A51/A51 5G
Galaxy A71/A71 5G
Galaxy Z Flip 5G/Zelphi Z Flip
Though it’s not surprising given that hardware on many of Samsung’s 2020 phones and tablets, particularly flagship models, is still fairly capable, this may be disappointing. However, it has never been a criterion for how many updates a specific Galaxy phone or tablet will receive, and it probably never will be.
