How to Utilize Google Maps For Saving And Locating Parked Vehicles

Vehicle owners are frequently frustrated by the loss of their parked cars in situations such as crowded streets and parking lots with several cars parked at the same time. In rare cases, clicking the key fob button does not assist users in locating their automobiles. In such cases, Google Maps provides a convenient option that can assist customers in quickly locating their vehicles.
Maps, Google’s popular navigation tool, provides numerous useful services to its customers. However, most users are unaware of these functionalities. Google Maps users on both Android and iPhone smartphones may either query the Google Assistant or directly save and later discover their parked car with a few taps within the program.
According to Google’s blog, parked automobile locations can be readily saved in Maps. The steps are as follows:
How to Save a Google Maps Parking Location
1. When you arrive at your parking place, launch the Google Maps app on your Android or iPhone.
2. Select the blue location dot icon.
3. Go to the bottom of the screen and click the “Save Parking” button.
Google argues in the blog post that this is the simplest way to save your car’s parking position. Users can, however, tap “More Info” to add a parking comment and how long they intend to stay in the spot. Users can also select “Share” to email the saved location to others in their group or even text it to themselves to make it easier to find later.
Users can also use Google Maps to locate where they parked their vehicle. Here’s how to put it to use:
How to Use Google Maps to Locate Parked Vehicles
1. Reopen Google Maps on your iPhone or Android once you’re ready to find your vehicle.
2.Look for a small gray icon that says “You parked here” on the map (or use the link you sent yourself previously).
3. Once you’ve located the parking spot, either walk towards it or hit the “You Parked Here” indicator and choose “Directions” to use Google Maps navigation. You will now receive turn-by-turn directions to your car.
Google now lets you type “Parking Location” into the search field to see where you parked. In such instances, Google Maps displays every available parking place nearby.
If the user is walking or using public transportation back to their vehicle, the navigation type should be changed from driving to walking or whatever method they are utilizing.
It is vital to remember that the location may encounter challenges if the user is parked in a multi-level garage. However, Google Maps will direct viewers to the proper building. Once the user has returned safely to their vehicle, they can hit the parking icon again and select “Clear.” By doing so, the location will not be displayed later when they use Google Maps parking.
