iOS 17: Protect Yourself from Unwanted Content with Sensitive Content Warnings on iPhone
Apple’s iOS 17 introduced a valuable feature called Sensitive Content Warnings, designed to block unsolicited nudes and explicit content. With on-device machine learning, this feature analyzes and blurs photos and videos that may contain nudity. Here’s how to enable Sensitive Content Warnings on your iPhone:
Steps to Enable Sensitive Content Warnings:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Privacy & Security.
- Select Sensitive Content Warning.
- Toggle the switch next to Sensitive Content Warning.
Once activated, potentially sensitive content will be blurred, accompanied by a message stating, ‘This may be sensitive.’ These warnings cover Messages, AirDrop, contact posters, and FaceTime video messages.
Additional Customization:
In the Sensitive Content Warning menu, you can choose specific apps and services where these warnings apply, providing personalized control over your content safety.
Accessing Safety Resources:
If you are unsure about handling sensitive content, tap the triangle with an exclamation point on the blurred image. This provides access to safety resources, offering guidance on dealing with harassment and considerations before opening such content. Resources are available for adults, children, and teenagers.
Viewing Potentially Sensitive Content:
For intentional viewing, tap the ‘Show’ button in the bottom-right corner of the blurred image. Stay protected and in control with iOS 17’s Sensitive Content Warnings.”
