The Samsung Phone Software For Windows Provides iPhone-Like Call Continuity On PC

Samsung has made the Samsung Phone software available for its Windows-based smartphones. When paired with Galaxy smartphones and tablets, this app makes it easy to text and call from Galaxy Book laptops. It adds continuity features similar to those seen on iPhones and Macs to Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Book laptops.

The Samsung Phone app is now available for PCs and laptops running Windows 10 or Windows 11 in the Microsoft Store (via Reddit). However, it is confined to Samsung’s own computers and only the Galaxy Book 4 series, which was announced just a few days ago. “Never miss an important call again,” promises the app’s description. To make and receive calls on your PC, use the phone number and mobile plan from your Galaxy phone.”

According to its description, it will allow Galaxy smartphone customers to utilize the same phone number on their Galaxy Book laptops. Because Galaxy Book 4 laptops lack an eSIM, it’s unclear how utilizing the same number as a smartphone is supposed to be used, as logging into the same Samsung account should suffice to ensure call and text continuity. According to the screenshots, the app will display pop-up notifications for calls when they arrive on a Galaxy smartphone. From the pop-up window, users can answer or refuse calls and even send a quick message. The UI design is similar to the One UI found on Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets.Users may already use the Windows Phone Link program on their Windows computer to view call logs and messages from any Android smartphone. They could also make calls if their Android phone was Bluetooth-connected to their Windows computer. Perhaps Samsung’s new app will make things more stable and trustworthy, but we won’t know until we examine a Galaxy Book 4 series laptop.
