Realme GT 7 launched with Dimensity 9400+ and a 7,200mAh battery.
Realme has just announced the launch of its newest budget flagship smartphone—the Realme GT 7—in China. Despite its affordable price tag, the device packs several premium features, including MediaTek’s top-tier Dimensity 9400+ chipset and a massive 7,200mAh battery. Here’s a detailed look at everything the GT 7 has to offer, from specs and features to pricing and availability.
The Realme GT 7 features a large 6.78-inch OLED display with a crisp 1.5K resolution. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 2,600Hz touch sampling rate, 4608Hz PWM dimming, 10-bit color rendering, HDR, and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The brightness peaks at 6,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in harsh sunlight.
Though equipped with such a large battery, the GT 7 remains impressively compact and lightweight, measuring 8.25mm in thickness and weighing 203 grams. It’s even slimmer than its Pro sibling. The device also boasts an IP68 and IP69 rating, making it both dustproof and highly water-resistant—ideal for users in harsh environments.
At the core of the GT 7 is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+, a powerful 3nm SoC that brings notable improvements to CPU and NPU performance over its predecessor. This processor is paired with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and storage options go up to a massive 1TB using UFS 4.0 technology.
Realme’s GT Performance Engine 2.0 ensures smooth gaming and multitasking, while the device’s massive vapor chamber cooling system—the largest in its class, according to Realme—keeps thermals under control. Additionally, it features a combination of graphene layers and conductive glass fiber for effective heat dissipation.
Powering the Realme GT 7 is a 7,200mAh battery with 100W Super Flash Charge support. The battery’s energy density is rated at 841Wh/L, offering longer life without compromising on form factor. Realme claims the battery can last over 17 hours of continuous video playback. It also supports second-generation bypass charging, allowing power to go directly to the system without stressing the battery during intensive tasks.
When completely drained, just one minute of charging is enough to bring the phone up to 5%, enough to boot up and make emergency calls.
The GT 7 opts for a more modest, but still capable, dual camera setup. On the back, you’ll find a 50MP Sony IMX896 sensor with OIS, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens using the OmniVision OV08D10 sensor. The selfie camera is a 16MP Sony IMX480, capable of 1080p video at 60fps, while the rear camera supports 4K recording at up to 60fps.
While not quite as advanced as the GT 7 Pro’s camera array, the sensors used here are competitive for the price and ideal for casual photography and social content.
The phone runs Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 right out of the box. It includes features like dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster, and stereo speakers. The ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner adds another layer of premium polish to the experience. However, there’s no headphone jack, which is increasingly common in flagship models.
The Realme GT 7 comes in three elegant finishes: Blue, White, and Black. Buyers can choose from five different configurations:
The first official sale of the Realme GT 7 is scheduled for April 29, 2025, via Realme’s online store in China. Early buyers will receive bonus accessories, including a magnetic cooler and Realme Buds T200 Lite.
